A beautiful, private oasis that even in a rainy, wintery weekend, had so much to offer. We saw an owl and plenty of ducks, Stephanie provides binoculars to bird watch! The pantry is full of helpful items (Tupperware, waffle maker) and fun games/ puzzles. We intend to come back to experience the pond and summer there, perfect for a cabin in the woods getaway!

Fantastic spot loved it!! Nice and secluded if you’re looking for nice privacy this is it. The pond was a positive also with kayaks in property if you’re a fisherman. House accommodated my entire party without discomfort. Close to scenic highway and Conway/North Conway. Would stay again for sure!

Absolutely stunning place to stay! Was super fun playing scrabble on the screened in porch at night and watching the sun rise and set over the lake with the foliage. Very quiet neighborhood- super peaceful!! Recommend driving into North Conway for Zeb’s, echo lake, and the kangamangus. Perfect location for a ton of things to do and great food. Great host who was super responsive!!

Overall the location was great and the views were beautiful. The pictures match the house and the outdoor, screened in patio was amazing. We were a little disappointed in the cleanliness of the house - the floors seemed dusty and there were cobwebs in the windows. It wasn't terrible but for the price I would expect a bit more. There were wasps at the lake access - which wasn't the owners fault but made the beach unusable for our kids. I wish the house had a user manual - there were a few things (finding the oars for the kayaks, turning on the fireplace, etc) that would have been a lot easier if there was some information shared. Overall it was a fine stay - the house was well stocked and had a beautiful view and great outdoor space, but I don't know if it was worth the cost.

Great location! Quiet neighborhood, great outdoor space. Close to everything which was awesome! We had a lot of fun, going to Story land, Tuckermans Brewery for live music, and shopping around down town North Conway. Hanging out by the pond was relaxing, plenty to explore on the kayaks. Good fishing! Nice night sky for star gazing and roasting marshmallows by the fire. Would definitely recommend for those traveling with a dog and young ones!

Awesome stay - peaceful and serene. Great location on a small lake that fed into a bigger lake. We used the kayaks a few times for morning cruises. Fire pit at night was great to relax and screened in porch and deck were great to play games, eat, etc. Inside was clean and well stocked, perfect for our family of four. Neighborhood was quiet and private. Not a far drive from activities and dining. Would definitely come back!

This property was wonderful for our family of 8. Very spacious inside and out. The house was well equipped with kitchen supplies, paper products, etc. we enjoyed the functional kitchen and large square table for all 8 of us to gather for meals. Our kids loved the bunk beds and game choices. Very quiet and peaceful location. The outside was wonderful as well. Lots of Kayaks, paddles, life jackets, and tubes to enjoy the river. Our kids enjoyed fishing and playing outside. Lots of frogs to chase and we even had a bear encounter! Stephanie was very responsive and made check in and check out seamless! We loved exploring Madison, North Conway and surrounding areas. Very close to the aquarium and Diana’s Bath’s. I highly recommend this home to all and especially to families with kiddos!

Over the years, we’ve rented quite a few houses, mostly around Big Pond and Middle Pond, and I can’t tell you how many times we’ve paddled by this lovely spot! It’s tucked away at the end of a charming little pond, with great access and a convenient boat dock to hop right in. The fire pit area is perfect for gathering with friends and family—it can easily accommodate a big group! As you head up to the deck and screened porch, the views are simply beautiful. Honestly, the house surpassed all our expectations! Check-in was super easy, and the instructions were clear and on point. The place was spotless and exactly what we were hoping for. The kitchen had all the cookware we needed, and cooking outside on the grill made things a breeze. And let me tell you about the outside shower—it was absolutely amazing! With temperatures soaring near 100 degrees during our week, it was such a refreshing way to cool off without having to trek down to the water. I think any New Englander would agree!

Place was amazing! So many amenities in excellent condition-kayaks, paddle boat, grill, firepit, screened porch. The kitchen was very well stocked with high quality pots, pans, silverware. All the essentials you would need to make dinner was in cupboard. Little touches throughout! One morning there were 3 deer in our yard and another evening we watched a fox playing on the pond bank across from us. Would DEFINITELY stay there again.

We had a wonderful time here! The layout of the house was perfect for a family traveling with two kids. We appreciated the convenient outdoor shower which was great for rinsing the kids off after swimming. We also enjoyed using the kayaks and paddle boat to get a closer look at the nesting loons that were near the private dock. The screened porch was perfect for bird and firefly watching without mosquitoes! The sandy beach is walking distance from the house so we spent a lot of time swimming and jumping from the float. Thanks for helping make our vacation memorable!

We had an absolutely amazing time. I booked for a small family vacation and my family had the best time ever! Stephanie’s place is the perfect private/secluded location - however it’s still a short drive to many different shops, restaurants, stores etc. Honestly could not have picked a better place, we drove from North Carolina to bring our family from Boston here and it was definitely worth it.

From the first moment we interacted with Stephanie, we knew we were going to have an incredible stay. Gracious, warm, and accommodating, Stephanie was the most wonderful host focused on ensuring we had the perfect getaway. We did, and you will too if you book her place! It’s spacious, thoughtfully designed, and has everything you need (and even things you don’t but will love!). Examples include a paddle boat/kayaks on direct lake access, a fire pit, and a screened in porch which is great for coffee, adult beverages, and games. See what I mean about perfect?! The neighborhood is quiet and serene, but you’re close to shops, restaurants, and adventures in North Conway. After a wonderful weekend, we were sad to leave. Stephanie, thanks for such a great stay, thanks for being so helpful, and thanks for your work to make our time away so memorable. We can’t wait to come back and encourage everyone to book. No doubt your lake escape will be just as enjoyable!

A great place to stay. House was the perfect size for our family of 5 and our dog. The house has 2 bedrooms each with a queen bed in them and a 3rd bedroom with 2 bunk beds, Plenty of space for everyone. The kitchen is spacious with a table and seating for 8. Kitchen was well stocked too (glasses, dishes, cookware, utensils, even spices in the cabinet). Red Maple Retreat was easy to communicate with and responded to our messages in a timely fashion. Mildly disappointed that the gas fireplace was not connected until after our stay, but the house was plenty warm without it (I really only wanted it for the ambiance). Only slight issue was a backed up drain (sump pump) in the lower level bathroom that left it an unusable bathroom for us, so sharing a bathroom in the master bedroom for 5 people was....interesting. Red Maple Retreat was notified of the issue right away and came through on their end by compensating us for the inconvenience. Overall a great place and I would stay here again.

The pictures do not do this place justice, the house is beautiful/ looks better than the pictures in person and about a half mile walk from a public beach. The house was very clean as well. We stayed during the winter season and glad we did! The community was very quiet and peaceful and all the basic necessities were provided with a robust kitchen tool supply. This place is about 20 minutes to North Conway and 15 minutes from King Pine ski resort. 100% would come back and recommend to anyone. The host was also very responsive and helpful when needed.
